This eLearning series is designed to refresh or develop team members’ communication skills to provide quality palliative care and end-of-life care in long-term care (LTC) homes. The three courses in the series include interactive case scenarios that reflect the unique setting and context of care delivery in LTC homes.

Practical knowledge of person-centred language ensures that appropriate, respectful, life-affirming and inclusive language is used when talking with and referring to people who communicate via responsive behaviours/personal expressions associated with dementia, complex mental health, substance use and/or other neurological conditions, and their care partners.
The Embracing Diversity: A Toolkit for Supporting Inclusion in Long-Term Care Homes is an interactive resource with print and online components that gives LTC homes practical steps to nurture diverse and welcoming communities. The toolkit was created by the Ontario CLRI and was informed by the Supporting Diversity and Inclusion in Long-Term Care Advisory Committee and other experts, including persons with lived experience.
